I have one of these laptops here. Works very well running at 2ghz with 4 gigs of ram. I want to upgrade the HDD. I took off the cover of the HDD and it says 5400 ATA/IDE drive.

Question is this: Can I install a SATA II or an SATA drive? If not what kind of drive can I use?

AFAIK you may only use ATA/IDE and not SATA drive based on your posted configuration.
