I am going to defrag my moms computer and wanted to delete the temp files and cookies first but I can't find them. I have Windows 98 and they are not in the same place. :D Could someone tell me where they are, please?

Thanks

As far as cookies go just do a search for cookies and it will pop up.

Deleting items from the temp folder can cause issues.

Try a search for temporary internet folder.

Ok.........

To delete the cookies and temporary internet files form you computer, just right-click on the Internet Explorer Icon on the Desktop, then go to Properties------>

Then, A little Properties window will open. Under "Temporary internet Files" , Click DELETE TEMP INTERNET FILES.

To delete Cookies, you also look under the "TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES" and you can press Delete Cookies.

Thats all there is to it. You can do all of that from the Internet Explorer Properties.

Just if you would like to know, the Temporary internet Files folder in Win 98 is located in C:/Windows/Temporary Internet Files, and the Cookies folder in WIN 98 is under C:/Windows/Cookies.......

In Win XP, both folders are located under c:/Documents and Settings/User/Local Settings/Temporary internet files, and the same goes for cookies C:/"/"/"/Cookies

Hope this helps :)

Best Regards,
