I am a new user, and I have a question about where deleted e-mails go. Is there a way to remove them completely, as they must take up a lot of space on the hard drive?

What email client are you relating to, Outlook Express, Outlook 2000, etc?

either outlook or OE....when you delete them they (kind of like the windows recycle bin) go into the deleted items folder...you can set outlook that when you exit the folder gets emptied...(tools options..mail settings --in here some where look around) but if not the folder keeps the mail untill it is deleted...as far as space...a simple email is small...you start putting attachments on it then you might have a problem down the road but if they are just letters...your pretty safe....people usally delete upto the last three months and what ever they want to keep but there is no rule on the subject
