My parents alerted me to an issue their having with their computer yesterday and after doing a virus scan and basic troubling shooting (short of a system restore which might be my next option) I haven't been able to figure out the problem.
It's a five year old HP Pavillion running Windows XP, 1GB of ram with a intergrated graphics card so the system ram is actually listed as 900 something MB (will edit with correct specs), and an ADM processor (I believe, will edit when I can check the machine later today).
Anway, the issue is, on start up the taskbar and icons do not load right away, this has never happened before but now whenever the computer loads it loads to the desktop but only displays the wallpaper. The icon does not show that its busy or working, the pointer is displayed, I can access the task manager and run programs from there and then after a few minutes the taskbar and icons will load.
