How much free space is there left on the system drive ?
Defragmenting can take a whole day, it depends on how big, how full and how fragmented the drive is. It's better to leave the computer alone (don't run any programs, don't play any games, don't surf the web) while it's defragmenting. Just start the process in the evening and leave the computer on overnight.
