You can go to Start/Run, type in chkdsk /f (with a space between the k and /) then choose Y to have check disk check and attempt to repair any errors.
Or you can open My Computer and right click on the disk you want to scan, then choose Properties/Tools tab/Check Now. The next time you restart Windows will scan the disk for errors.
