Decrease the network search timeout?

Problem is: When you try to access a network station that is powered off and have to wait for 60s or so before it times out.

Is there a value in the registry that can be changed so I can decrease or reset this value as needed? I can't deal with that (Not Responding) crap when I accidentally click a link to a offline location on my corporate network.
