cute girl's computer can't find the CD drive

I need help! When I insert a blank CD into the CD ROM and try to save information to it, my computer says that this drive is not available/ready. It will not allow me to save information (i.e. digital photos, etc.) to the disk. Do I need to format the disk? How do I do that? Please help!!

Welcome to the forum.

First off, is the cd player also a cd writer? Are you using software like Nero or Hot burn, or you trying to drag and drop? I'm not meaning to insult your intelligence, I'm just starting from the beginning due to a lack of specifics in your explanation. Please try to list your components like make and model of the cd drive, operating system, and the software you are using to attempt to burn, it will help us help you.

Hello

If you are using rewritable cd's you will need to format first then you can drag and drop.

Like JAMMAN said more details on your burner brand and what software you are using is a must...
