here is a good start on customizing windows....create your own ICONS....add you own windows customaztion (guess you can include buying a MAC:winkgrin: )

Turn Photos Into Icons
Mark from Portland, Tennessee, called asking how to turn JPEG images into desktop icons.

Download http://www.irfanview.com/english.htm, a freeware image-conversion utility capable of creating icons and other image formats. Use it to resize and resample your JPEG.

Icons come in three sizes: 16x16, 32x32, and 48x48. The default is 32x32. It's the size you see on your desktop. To create icons for your system tray or taskbar, go with 16x16.

When you're done resizing, go to the File menu and choose Save As. Select ICO -- Windows Icon as your File Type. Then click Save.

Follow these directions to change icons:

Click Start, Settings, and Control Panel.
Double-click the Display icon and go to the Effects tab.
Single-click the Ic! on you want to replace and click Change Icon.
Browse to the new icon on your hard drive.
Click Open and OK.

You can do that with Paint! Just rename a .bmp file into .ico and you're set. You may want to do some experimenting with this.:D I think 192 Gray is transparent, but I am not sure now.:uhoh: Oh well...:angel1:
