Nope. no themes whatsoever.
On the other hand, I tried checking the Appearance tab in the Display Properties, n when I tried to modify the desktop colour at the Advanced Appearance window.... the problem still can't be solved..:sigh:

It looks like the material in question is primarily, if not entirely, in javascript. Make sure that your Java software is all up-to-date, and check to see if your non-Operatic browsers have javascript enabled.

It seems you have broken or incomplete codes in chrome.
Firstly as said rightly above, update the Java and keep the JS enabled.
Next, remove any extra toolbars (from customize) and see if it gets better. Still I doubt it should be happening on your Desktop, irregardless of any updates not being met.

I was thinking this is definitely a coding problem. However, it can't be across IE and Fx, both. This looks to me most likely a security issue.

Have you ran any spyware/virus checks yet?

Do that first here. If anything is found, then I'll advise whose best to tackle it form there.

yupp...

I ran the AVG n Sophos antivirus almost daily n I also scanned my laptop for any malware/adware with Ad-Aware SE Professional..but the problem still exist in an annoying manners..
You know, even when I type this post, all of this thread color had been replaced by the white curses...On the other hand, when the WMP 11 is minimised into my taskbar, the buttons there are back to normal (shiny blue)..
Oh man..I hate magic tricks...
