I've played all the way through Crysis until the last level on high settings without a shudder, and then it starts to slow down and crash. So I put it on lower settings and it played through OK and I finished it. Then I put the settings on high again and went back to the 1st level, which is all rainbow colours and white light and stuff most of the time, which played fine only 2 weeks ago! My computer is new, got it maybe 3 weeks ago, settings:

Intel i5 750
4gb ddr3 ram
ATI HD4890 graphics
windows 7 64 bit edition

Thanks a lot

Tagan don't make good quality PSU's. Could you please post how many amps are on the +12V rail as floop asked for. It should be listed on the power supply itself. Get the temps for us also.

Those temps are fine. Nothing wrong with them, but your PSU is very suspect. Multiple +12V rails are not what you want in a stable PSU. Really for a 4890 you should be running something like this. A good quality 750W with >80% efficiency and a single +12V rail at 60A. $110 US.

Are you sure its not the GPU, as the company I bought the PC from reckons its that and are willing to send me a replacement. Do you not think the problem described is not more likely to be the GPU?

Use SIW (link in my sig) to check what voltage the +12v rail/s are running at when the system is idle.
Then check it again just after starting a game of Crysis.

Please post both results back here.

Right... well I dont quite understand what it means but it says this under the 'voltages' section in the sensors without Crysis:
CPU VCORE: 0.88V
VIN1: 1.60V
+3.3V: 3.33V
+5V: 5.05V
-12V: -11.97V
+5V VCCH: 3.63V
VBAT: 3.26V

The other two columns, the mins and maxs, are all +- 0.02V of the values put here.

Starting Crysis, the values are exactly the same?
My GPU is at an average of 49C though, at a max of 60C! Could that be the problem?
