Hey guys, I'm new here. I was just wondering does anyone know why my computer does random crashes while playing fullscreen games (warcraft 3, cs). I have tryed many things trying to fix this problem formatting like 8 times, downloading new drivers, etc

I have a radeon 9600 graphics card with 256mb graphics.
forgot to mention this computer was built by a friend of mine.

Hello, welcome to TSF.

It could be a heat or voltage related issue. Could you post your fully system specs (including power supply information) and temperatures and voltages when your computer is turned on and while playing a game.

http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php - PC wizard can be used to get the required information.

PS: my computer screen just went black when trying to post in here for about 15-20secs and now scrolling up and down web pages, my documents, anything lags or goes or matrix or whatever you call it. I think its also got something to do with my graphics card?

it suddenly just started crashing even NOT in fullscreen games... anyway heres my temperature

Hardware Monitoring - ITE IT8705F
Voltage CPU - 1.36 V
DIMM 3.22 V
+3.3V Voltage - 2.99v
+5V Voltage - 5.04
+12V Voltage - 9.17 V
Processor Temperature - 25 degrees celcius
Mainboard Temperature 41 degrees celcius
Power/Aux Temperature - 28 degrees celcius
ACPI Thermal Zone - 40 degrees celcius

Video Monitoring - ATI Catalyst Driver
GPU - 30 degrees celcius

Hard Disk Monitoring - S.M.A.R.T
Hard Disk Temperature WDC WD800JB-00JJC0 : 33 °C

when I'm in game main board goes to 65+ degrees and graphics temp goes to 44+ thanks.

Alrighty. I'm not expert in these matters but I have a feeling that your +12v indicates a dying power supply.

It should be between 11.95 and 12.05, yours is at 9.17 which means the system isn't getting enough power which would explain the lag.

An easy way to determine if this is the case is to borrow a power supply unit from a friend and use to to see if the problem persists.

Also, could you post what power supply you have and how many watts it is.
