Hi all,

I have an Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard flashed to the V.1007 BIOS. I find it strange that when I check the CPU temp in BIOS (at startup) it's at 45-48°C but in Windows XP, Asus Probe shows it as 36-38 at idle. Does the BIOS report the wrong temp or what could be the reason? I have no problem with overheating so I believe Asus Probe shows the correct temps.

The BIOS is probably reading the temperature sensor on the chip, and the Asus probe is reading the one under the processor socket. There is normally an 8-10C difference in the readings.
