Planning on buying an Intel Pentium 4 630 Socket 775 processor Extreme Editon. Just wondering whether it will work with a motherboard only supporting Pentium 4??

Many thanks

That doesn't look like an Extreme Edition processor to me.

Number doesn't match (630 is a plain ole pentium 4 w/ht) and the box isn't right, neither is the price.

However, as just a plain ole 630, that processor will work with that board.

Ive had a look at a few websites regarding the board n the CPU n found that it was gonna work. With regards to the CPU being an 'Extreme Edition' it referred to the HT technology..

Thanks guys

Under the box (image for illustrative purposes)
This is not a regular P4 w/ht it is the EM64T which has the 2mg catch also instead of the 1mg on the 530.630 At NEWEGG
