My computer : Pentium III 750 - 384 sdram- motherboard Soyo SY-6VBA 133 - Via ApolloPro133 AGP/PCI - AGP2x

My video card was a NVidea TNT2 32M - 64Pro PCI and I intended to upgrade to GEforce4 MX440 AGP8x DDR TV-out VGA.

I installed the new card and when I boot nothing happens except a BIOS alarm beep (two different sounds - I suppose means Processor error)

Help!!!!

I don't know what to do!

Thank you!

Welcome pavs...........:D

Try seating the video card all the way in, you may not have pushed it in far enough.

If that doesn't work try the old card again.

Hi Speedo!

I went all the way with the card, didn't worked.
I installed the old card. OK. It works very well.
Now with the GEforce MX440 firmly attached to the mobo no more beeps, but the system doesn't starts!.
Only the fans works, both CPU's and Video card's.

Thank you for answering me. :D

Suppose the card could be defective!

If this is a newly purchased video card I would take it back for another one!

I have a couple of older PCs that have onboard video. When I install a PCI video card I have to click Ctr/Alt/Delete to get it to boot...otherwise, it is a black or scrambled screen. Sometimes it take a 1/2 tries or more. (short of removing the onboard video chip there is no fix) Perhaps if you tried the same it might work.

beep error messages...
