Hi everyone
I was thinking about changing CPU in my laptop which is from 2005.
Inside i got Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor - 3.06 Ghz on socket 478.
I there any possibility i can change it for Mobile Core Duo processor with the same socket type? I know that thermal power is weaker than old one so i am not thinking about that because i am sure cooling will be alright.
And another question is if the new CPU FSB is 667Mhz and my old one is 533MHz will it be able to use this 667Mhz or it will just make it 533Mhz??
It is quite hard for me to get full specs of laptop motherboard so if anyone knows about things like that i would be thankfull  for the information
Laptop is: Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V7010
All the best for everyone

The problem is that i found quite a few sites where core duo not core 2 duo are on socket 478 and mobile core duo processors are on socket 479, which is the same as 478 because intel needed to make diference, i agree that core 2 duo are on LGA775. If they are on the same socket do you think my motherboard will recognise this kind of processor???

The best you can do is a socket 478 Pentium M. The Mobile C2D's and CD's use Socket M (478 pins, NOT pin compatible with Socket 478), and Socket P (478 pins, NOT pin compatible with Socket 478). You also need a 945PM/GM chipset or later for dual core support.
