can a website track your email address by purley visiting a site through the use of a cookie

Are you asking if they can find out your email address by using a cookie or if your email could be stored in a cookie and then read by a website?

yea i mean can they use a cookie to find out a email address on the basis that i have looked at the website but not provided any information

ok, so how can an email be sent to a visitor of a website, without them entering any information. in other words how can the host of the website get your email address.

If you give them your email address they could store it in a cookie and then read it back from that cookie.

Often times when you've put your email address on one site, tracking cookies can "steal" it and report it to another. It's also common practice for website to share or even sell your email address to other sites or marketing companies.

I have 2 email address: one I use for family, friends, etc., and one I use for anything needed online (shopping, forums, newsletters, etc.).
