Hi,

I'm following the instructions on what to do before I post a HJT log and can't seem to adjust the hidden file/folder settings.

This means I cannot ensure all hidden folders are displayed for the HJT log.

I goto control panel but cannot find a "folder options" file, I have also tried safe mode but still the same. I am using XP.

Any help is very much appreciated please.

Thanks,

Mark

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

Hi Bry623 and thanks for the speedy response.

In My Computer->Tools I don't have the "folder options" choice, I only have Map Network drive, disconnect network drive or synchronize.

Any ideas please?

Click start then run and type in gpedit.msc and click ok.
Click the + next to User Configuration
Click the + next to Administrative Templates
Click the + next to Windows Components
Click on the Windows Explorer Folder
Double Click Removes the Folder Options menu item from the Tools menu
Choose Not Configured

Hi,

Checked your advice and that option was already set to "not configured". I also looked through all the other options in the gpedit file and everything else is also set to not configured.

Thanks
