Hello,

I stupidly switched off my PC without shutting down Windows XP. When I re-started it later, I got the screen giving me the option to use safe mode, last known good config, start windows normally, etc.

Whichever option I choose, the result is the same - it starts to run XP, and then reboots.

I've tried a repair installation, but the option to repair didn't appear.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Calum

Hi,

Many times a clearing of the CMOS will fix this problem. Either change the jumpers (ground yourself first and unplug the computer) for a few or remove the battery for a few. Replace and give it a test drive.
