constant crashing

Please, Please help!!!! I have had three computers do almost the same thing over a 7yr period. Currently my computer crashes left and right on me and I have to turn it off for several days before getting it to run windows, the latest messages I get have been; driver_irql_not_less_or_equal, bad_pool_caller, and no_more_irp_stack_location. I know nothing about computers and my husband only knows what he teaches himself. My questions are what do these things mean, are they viruses, and what causes them? Like I said I have had the crashing problem on multiple computers, so I am pretty certain it has to be something we are doing. We have wiped and started over with original disc from purchase, not done any uploads or updates, anything we could think to stop this. No luck :(Please help before I throw this thing through a window!

The BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) is Windows shutting down before an error can damage your hardware. Most are caused by corrupted drivers - but they can also be caused by viruses, problems with Windows, or by incompatible hardware or software.

Luckily you've reached one of the few places that works on these for regular computer users. In order to get started we'll need the information in this post: http://www.techsupportforum.com/f217/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-452654.html

FYI:
driver_irql_not_less_or_equal = STOP 0xD1: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x000000D1
bad_pool_caller = STOP 0XC2: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x000000C2
no_more_irp_stack_location = STOP 0x35: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x00000035
