This morning, when I started up my laptop (HP Pavilion dv5000) I started getting a blue screen memory dump before it got to the log on screen.

Tried opening it up in Last Known Good Configuration. Blue Screen.

Safe Mode? Blue screen.

Am runinng Windows XP Home SP2. Any suggestions, or should I just bite the bullet and wipe the drive?

dont wipe it, try to load the disc and do a repair rather than a reinstall!

ha same as, if you feel you would fair better cleaning it entirely, you could, but it might be a hardware issue rather than software you see..

OK. when I get home tonight I will try the repair. Better not be a hardware issue though. Just got the flipping thing just over a year ago.
