I just sent my computer back to the shop where I purchased if due to a software problem, and after they fixed the problem and I brought it back home, I couldn't seem to dial-up to the internet. When I try to connect it goes,'

' Dialing...
Dialing...
Dialing...
Redialing in 5 seconds...'

And keeps on going for about 10 tries until it says,
'Could not establish a connection.'

I checked the ISP, number.etc settings and everything was the same as before, the modem (internal) is properly connected and everything else in order except I still can't connecting. Why can't I connect to the internet? Please reply, thanks for your help.

well

i know you said that ist hooked up right, but are you sure the line going to the wall is in the line plug?

and you might check to see if it is trying to dial the correct number.

do you hear any dialing noise?

Yes the cord is plugged into the wall, and I checked the number and it is right. The modem appears to be working but there is no dialing tone even when i set it on. I've tried everything, would it do anything 2 re-install the modem driver? Plz help I really need 2 get back online on that computer.

try detaching other devices like phones, fax machine, ringers, so that you only have the modem on the phone line
