I have a dell latitude d630. I also have at&t internet with a wireless router. all of a sudden my laptop will not assign an ip address within the range i need. It shows a 635.498.something i forgot the rest. I have since manually input an ip address with in the range that it shows in my router.I can connect to the internet but it lasts about 15-20 minutes and then kicks me off. I go into network connections and "repair" the connection and it works again, but again kicks me off the net 15-20 minutes later. Please help because this sucks.

Have you already done a soft reset on the wireless router/modem(an ISP device correct?).

Sounds like it could be the laptop or the router causing the problem.

Do you have another computer or laptop that can connect to the router?

Click on the start menu, click on run, and type in cmd

Upon the open window, type in netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt, then restart the computer.

Now check if your laptop is able to automatically attain an IP address.

If you don't mind, can you go into your c drive and look for the resetlog.txt and post it here for me to see. Thanks

Also please provide an ipconfig /all from the dell lattitude D630 for us to review.

Is this a wireless or wired connection?
