Hello

a few days ago there was a national outage for Telecom in New Zealand
after the outage finished I am still having problems with my connection.
I've rung my isp and they say that broadband is connected and there is
something wrong on my side. I have a dlink-504g btw

the problem I'm getting is in my ipconfig its saying media disabled.

I've been trying to fix the problem so far this is what i've done.

I un and then re-plugged my 504g.

I tried repairing the connection and typing ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew in the cmd prompt.

I tried disabling and re-enabling my connection.

I did a pinhole reset then re-entered all my details.

I tried pinging google and I get host unreachable.

I checked in device management to see if there were any problems, I could see none.

last of all I tried yelling at it... this did no help :biggrinje

I'm not sure why it shouldn't connect after the outage as it was working fine before.
I can connect to my gf's computer which is on the network but she
can't connect to the internet either.

attached is a pntscrn of ipconfig/all and my dlink console, when I hit
connect nothing happens and also my network activity it seems to be
sending but not receiving.

Thanks heaps for your help I'm at an internet cafe atm hopefully I have given you guys enough to go on.

Oh by the way I was supposed to mention that on the 504g the adsl light and the power light is constantly on whereas the status light is flashing. I read in the dsl-504g manual that the status light is supposed to flash.

Your WAN status says disconnected, this is either the modem or the ISP. Time to call them back and beat on them, because that device is NOT connected.

Thanks for the advice I rung them back and after going through all of
there normal tech suport stuff such as reseting blah blah blah they told me
the outage was still in effect.

I went back to the net cafe and checked there website and it says the
outage has finished, so he was lying I called back again and got someone
competent who was able to fix my problem.

It turns out there was something wrong on there end not mine...
