Instead of making this easy to read i'm going to just put down the symptoms

No matter what after a lengthy amount of time i lost internet connection.
I try Explorer, nothing. Messengers. nothing.
I also play a lot of battlefield 2, an online game and EVERY SINGLE time i play i lose connection.

on to part 2.
after the connection is lost i cannot access task manager or my network connections (which all the while say my connection is gloriously fine)
ALSO if i try to restart, the option for shutting down or restarting will come up, and i can select my choice but nothing happens after that. the only way to restart is the handy button on the front of the tower.
that being said...help

sound slike it may just be a program not responding which is causing it also you could try and reset winsock (Windows XP SP2)
start > run > cmd > netsh winsock reset

and give that a go also try running some spyware/adware removers as there could be a process which is causing it which is malware.

give that a go then report back

well that ain't it...i appreciate the help but the problem persists
