Since BIOS vary from system to system there is no major book on it. I'd say your 3DMark05 score is pretty good for that system, as '05 really crunches your hardware.
Configuring BIOS
Is there a good manual out there to help configure BIOS settings? the one that came with my motherboard isn't very good. My motherboard is a MSI K8N NEO2 Platnium nVidia nForce 3 chipset. My 3D Mark05 score is just a little above 5000, when I expect more.

you can search a review of the motherboard you have and see what they tweaked in the bios section.
