Hi people,

Apache, PHP, MySQL - I don't want WAMP. I installed these a long time ago, but forget exactly how I did it.

So now, I have Apache and PHP downloaded. Would someon tell me how to configure these? Nothing deep, just a simple implementation.

I just realized that Apache is not installed...this happens because my Windows Installer isn't working. This is strange though because I recently downloaded Firefox and it installed ok.

What do you have against WAMP? For development or just about anything except for live webserving (which I have done a single site with wamp before during a server crash) it is extremely versatile if you insist on using windows. I have no need for it any more but my wife still uses it.

I'm just curious it seems like a great canned solution for local site development.

I had read on the TSF a long time ago that it was not recommended. Maybe by now it has proved itself to be reliable. I may give it a try but first I have to get correct my problem with Windows Installer. I started a thread in the Server section about this.

Thanks for your reply.
