Computer Wont Boot!

736 Views 8 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  jatman000
Last night I tried to put in two sticks of ram that my buddy gave me. After doing so, I tried to boot up and my monitor light turned green like it should....then turned amber (the color of it when there is no input) I tried taking out the ram and I got the same results. I also tried the monitor on another PC and the monitor is fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need this computer for work. My entire life is on it.

I can post my specs if need be.

Thank you,

- Jared

Hi Jared,

Please post the specs they are very important.
Try reseating the orginal ram in the original slot leaving out the new sticks.
Try the orginal ram in another slot
Does the computer beep at all?
Is there a case speaker connected?

the power supply is underpowered for the system
check you did not knock the video card when fitting the ram check your cables are secure

So you're saying that if I get a stronger PSU, it might start to work? I have never really had problems with my current PSU.

I have already taken everything out, cleaned it, and put it back in. Everything is secure. I even tried switching my old ram into new slots.
the 12vv line only puts out 16a the recommended min. is 18a

based on a quality supply and add 30% to the end result
So are you saying a stronger PSU should fix my problem?
what did the calculator come up with
the best way is to borrow one and try it
mate if i can call you that,
i had the same problem, replaced the motherboard by the reseller, exact spec you have and my monitor stopped working.
