Computer will not boot no matter what

I was working on my computer earlier today and suddenly found that I couldnt interact with any of my programs. I could click on them in the Taskbar and they would come up, but when I tried to click on anything within the programs they would act as if I had a different program selected. I saved my work and restarted my computer.

Now every time I try to start my computer, I get to a loooooong "Starting Windows" screen, and if I sit through it (5-10 minutes) I get to a black screen with a cursor where I can't do anything. Startup Repair doesn't work. Safe mode doesn't work. Low resolution mode doesn't work. Taking out the battery and putting it back doesn't work. I'm running out of options. Help???

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 running Windows 7.

The HDD may be corrupted or failing. Do you have a Windows disc?
You can download the ISO image for Seatools, and burn the image to CD using IMGBurn or to USB Flash with SeaFlash, all available in my signature. Boot off of the newly created media and run the Short and Long Diagnostic tests. If either test fails, the HDD needs to be replaced.
