Hi.
I have a virus on my puter which My AV
(grisoft) is unable to deal with although up to date the virus is.
C:Windows\startmen\Programs\startup\
MSSG.EXE.
Problem seems to be that it can not delete the file as windows says it is needed.
I frequently get the red screen up at startup and then later it causes random freezes.
Do I have to reformat ?? don't really want to as this would lose me valuable infro.
please help

If you made an AVG rescue floppy try booting to it and see if it will get rid of it.

boot into safe mode...windows will release it then ...then remane or delete it...
