This is for a friend. He's been building a computer, and it is BRAND NEW. I've been walking him through the steps and trying to fix his problems, but it will not boot. The entire computer powers on, the button lights up, and the fans start. He says he also hears some things powering on (like CD and HDD). It will not go into the POST or Bios. He says it's just blank. There is no beep code.

He uses a m4a89gtd pro/usb3 motherboard by Asus.
I told him to remove the extra things he has installed, such as video cards and such. He uses the onboard video card, still nothing. I told him to check all the connections, he says it is like it should be.

He told me that his RAM is not on the authorized dealer list, so he's ordering more, but I told him that as long as it FITS, it shouldn't matter, right?

Any help appreciated.

Thank you. The removal of the video card allowed us to hear the beeps. Turns out, the memory is not compatible. We'll see how this works out within a few days.

Thanks much!
