Hi there.

My mom's been having some issues with her computer, with viruses.
And I've been working on it for a bit. Managed to stop the irritating process "phb.exe" Which is some "2010 XP Free Antivirus" crap.
It was very irritating.

Anyways, I've been trying to run Spybot S&D, but, there seems to be a new problem now.
I start running scans to clean it, and they take a while, so I leave the computer for a while, and every time I come back, the screen is black, the CPU fans and everything are off, but the power light is on.
It's almost like it's in sleep/hibernate, but there's no way to get out of it.

It's really irritating when I can't even finish a scan. =[

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of anything like this before.
Thanks guys.

P.S. it seems to turn off about 5-7 minutes after startup.

Right click the Desktop/Properties/Screen Saver/Power Make sure that the Screen Saver does not come on and that the HDD and Monitor do not turn off.

Is this a laptop or a desktop? Blow out all fans with compressed air. If a laptop, make sure there is ventilation to the bottom of the computer. If a desktop, open the side and make sure all fans are spinning. Overheating would cause the computer to shut down.
