Computer shuts off right away

hey I recently had a power outage and when I went to turn my computer back on nothing happened!
I then unplugged everything and moved it and put just the power cord in,When I turned it on it would turn on then off almost instantly and did so even with no ram, no HD, no video card, I did lots of swapping. No beeps nothing on the screen. The only time it didnt shut off right away was when I had the CPU out of it and the heatsink fan unplugged, then the mobo and stayed on. Maybe thats because then the PSU barely needs to work? a couple times, with the cpu in and all of the hardware, It would stay on for a few seconds more but during that time the light in the psu would barley go on and like flicker while the rest of the system sounded like it was begging for more energy pretty much. I'm very confused, I don't know if my PSU is dead and I need a new one or if I need to go buy a new CPU -_- I'm going out to buy a new one tomorrow so any help would be much appreciated.

I will also try again tomorrow the trick with the paperclip and the green and blackwire on the 20 pin, I though have a 20 ping that says main then a 4 pin thing that says 24 on the same thing, but its seperate from the 20 pin do I remove both of them? either way tomorrow ill try it out again, my guess is the PSU from all the things that have been going wrong, and randomly lately I'd get a bluescreen once a day when in real intensive battles, and now every time once is unplugged for a while, it does the struggling thing on the second time i push the power button, the leds on the mobo like flicker bright/dull and the psu led doesnt even light up. The mobo is only a few months old, its the newest, the CPU isnt that old I dont see the cpu failing for no reason do you? it was running fine before the power went out, I also noitced a while back after a power surge, a slight one, and yes I use a protector my comp seemed a bit louder, and the only thing I could think of that would be louder was the PSU I think it's been dying, Any guesses? I'm going to buy a new psu tomorrow.
My hardware is.

Could be the psu, with that video card I would want to be in the 750watt
range of psu. Probably already stressed. Hope the mobo didnt take
a hit..
Hi,

The most probably answer is that your power supply is defective, however it could be a number of different defective hardware that is causing the issue. If you have a spare PSU lying around that accepts that correct pin power chord, then try that and see if the system responds differently.

Chances are, you will probably find that when you get your PSU tomorrow things should be fine.
To be quite honest, it sounds like you fried something. You may have to try the bench test with a different power supply:

Bench Test Your System

Thanks! I'm going out now to buy a new PSU, I took mine out as well see if they can test it quick just to make sure, I mean everything is only about 3-5 months old, the mobo and the cpu being the newest but the oldest being around 2 years is the 650 ocz, I noticed after the last power outage my computer seemed louder a tad, and to my best assumptions it was coming from the PSU, I think it was dying and long with the new better part I've bought took it down to it's last legs, I shall let you know of the final outcome, thanks for your help!
