Hi there, I need help finding out whats happening to this PC.

I hit the power button and it loads up find untill after the Windows XP logo and then it stops and restarts. After the restart it boots to the startup menu, I boot into safe mode fine and I did a virus scan and it is clean. so I rebooted from safemode and same deal.

I don't think that its hardware related cause its a fairly new PC in a clean environment and the temps and voltages in the BIOS are all OK.

any help would be greatly apprecieated

thanks,

Glome

starting ok in safe mode indicates a software problem and it being something in your startup folder
in msconfig/startup
untick the boxes one at a time and try rebooting normally to try and isolate the offender

I just unselected all of them and it still did the same thing so now i'm going to do the Diagnostic Startup.

Anything else you think that I should try?

Thanks

from the options try
last known good configuration
if no good
when you select safe mode from the options it usually asks if you want to do a system restore
try restoreing to an earlier date when everything was working

That didn't work either, I'm going to try to uninstall the video drivers and see if that helps.

System restore was not avaliable.

Uninstalling the video drivers didn't change anything either, still having the same problems.

I disabled the Automatically Restart on errors and I got a BSOD with this info:

STOP: c0000415 Unknown Hard Error
Unknown Hard Error
Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical Memory dump complete.
Contact you systems administrator of technical support group for further assistance.

what would this mean?

list your system specs including the power supply
with v/driver problems you usually receive a bsod error message
