Computer Problems

To start this off, I immediately apologize if this is the wrong forum (my OS was not listed; Windows 7 Ultimate).:4-dontkno

Anyways straight to the point:
Basically my problem is whenever my computer is under heavy load it black screens, and monitor won't respond and long story short I have to restart.

It's not a heating issue, all heat sensors are well in acceptable range.
Bios is up to date If I'm correct (which I do believe I am).

Another thing my computer sometimes does is if it idles for too long it'll freeze up after moving the mouse about the screen.

It's not the ram, I just replaced it, I don't think it's the graphics card (it's relatively new).

Power supply make/model?
What temperatures are you getting when it is under load?

Which version GPU drivers are you using and have you tried installing previous versions?
Hello and welcome to the TSF.

Please tell us which AV you are currently using? Also did you try running on another hard disk? I had the same problem and it was due to a faulty hard disk.

You can use ccleaner for cleaning temps files and registry errors and then report back.

Keep us posted.

Thanks,
Gaming Team,
TSF.

AV? No I didn't try another harddisk, the one I'm using is only about 2years old. Do you think it could be the fact that I'm running it through RAID in bios?

It's a "Zuman Technology" 400w
Under load about 60c, that's pretty high if I'm not mistaken, but the fans are all clean they all work. (5fans + a aftermarket CPU fan)
Post the temperatures and PSU voltages listed in BIOS.

The Zumax 400W is a low quality $25 PSU with two +12V lines (14A, 15A) and a low efficiency rating, not suitable for your graphics card.

When you get black screens and crashes under heavy load when the temperatures are ok, the problem is usually a weak PSU.
Also, right click on MY computer -> Manage -> Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> check System and Applications. See if you have red or yellow "!"

If this is the case, please tell.
Most likely problem:
The Zumax 400W is a low quality $25 PSU
Another possible issue is the ATI chipped Mobo and the Nvidia chipped GPU.

Yes there are several in each, in applications they're mostly regarding games (which is when it usually occurs).

In system there's variations, but the one I saw most likely (from my little knowledge) is the one that was a Critical error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." The details don't explain much though, if they'll help I'll post them.

I've tried other PSU's and still, same error. The one I most recently tried was a Orion 585W

Should I try a ATI card then? It also has onboard graphics, should I test to see if it fails using that only, that way by eliminating the video card as a possible concern?
i would try the gpu in another computer to see if you get the same results,
Okay I'll try that.

Also It's becoming increasingly worse, It's starting to do it with firefox open with only 1 tab open and no background programs. :/

Okay well I just tried a different graphics card of my friends Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT and I was able to boot 3 WoW's listen to music and have 5+ tabs on firefox, so clearly it's an issue with my graphics card.

Also I put the graphics card into another computer and it works with no problem on that one. I'm not quite sure what that means.

Could someone else confirm please?
