I opened up my laptop to blow out the dust from my fans and as I was starting to screw my case back on I noticed that there was a part that fell out and was laying on my desk. Does anyone know what this part is and if it's important? How do I put it back in?

not sure i"ve seen an E-clip in a laptop before, but they are generally used to on a round shaft to hold something together so look for a round shaft that has a grove in it and that should be were it goes.

Yea it's an E-clip cept I still have no idea where it goes I don't see any round shafts. What a predicament
