Recently bought a new power supply for my HP Media Center M8300f in order to use a better video card than the integrated 6150SE thing that it came with.
Once i got the PSU in there and seemed to have hooked up everything back together, my moniter would not respond, says no signal, and the light at the bottom of my computer stays orange, not green at any point. As well i cant turn off the computer via power switch, only by turning the PSU off, or unplugging. Turning on works fine...

Any known causes for this, or simple thing i missed that would cause this..

O and the PSU is a 465W, up from a 300W

Hello,

What is the make/model of the PSU that was added.

Make sure that all connectors properly seated on motherboard.

Check 4-pin plug beside the CPU.

Does system boot with old PSU?

It does work with the old PSU, i just needed more to work the video card.

The model/make is Retail Plus+, The ultimate power supply....bought it from staples.
It supports ATX 12V 1.1 and 2.03 standard and AMD processors.

HOwever the 4 pin plug... where abouts is it located, i have the plug, but cant fnid where it goes. that was one thing i was lookin at.

What video card are you planning on installing as you may need more than the 465W.

I would be very apprehensive about the quality of that PSU. It only has 28A on the +12V rail.
