my keyboard works well with windows 7 but on bios and ubuntu it work like rubbish. when i press spacebar it types "zxcvb" when i press up button it response with other buttons +enter button when i press backspace it highlights what is written and do other commands. it takes time for me just to choose between ubuntu and windows 7 on startup i entered bios setting but cant control anyhing because of the up and down butons. right and left buttons work, all letters and numbers work. Iam using laptop computer. it happened 1 time on windows and worked by itself agian after restart. last year i spilled a full cup of tea with sugar but after drying it it worked normaly but this happed few days ago.

what is the problem?

no but it works on windows , should i clean it?

If it was i definately take it down to the motherboard and clean any residue from the board. the suger and water will not be good for it could be causing the problem. you might also need a new keyboard. does a usb keyboard work in bios?

i just realized a new problem in windows. i have hp g62 when i press the f12 button + function it must turn off wireless and bluetooth and it works but when the button is pressed most of buttons mess up when i turn it back on every thing is back normal.

i will try using a usb keybourd

i believe at the very least you will need a new keyboard and i would still check the motherboard for any residew from the spill. let us know if the usb keyboard works.
