Friends: I am running a Pentium 4 1.8GHz, 512 MB RAM with Windows XP. The computer works fine until I try to run an antivirus software or try to defrag the HDD. Then the computer shuts down without warning, only the power light on the front of the case and the NUM LOCK light on the keyboard stays on. It will not reboot normally. I have to remove all power, wait for 10 seconds for these lights to go off, only then can I reboot. Both cooling fans are clean and running well. There is no real overheating issue. The mobo is IBM P6 2001, chipset Intel FW82801BA. Event Viewer provides no clues. Any ideas how to fix this? Thank.
