My laptop is rapidly clicking with no input from me. I have tried a different mouse and my touchpad but neither have fixed the problem so I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the laptop itself. Has anyone else had this issue?

Try to identify the clicks, whether is a a click like you are clicking on something and it is selecting text or is it something else. put your ear on the bottom of the laptop on one side or the other. If it is coming from within your laptop, it is probably your HDD which means it is failing and needs to be replaced.

The clicking is actual clicking on the computer like selecting text or opening menus on screen

What is the Make and Model # of your laptop?
You probably have a stuck key on the keyboard or malfunctioning trackpad. You can disable the laptop keyboard and use the On Screen Keyboard or a USB keyboard. If the clicking stops, then you know the issue is the laptop keyboard which will probably need to be replaced.

I would stop doing anything on the laptop and backup your data just in case it's the HD.
