My computer suddenly shut off. The mother board has lights but the power button doesn't work. Even the power button on the motherboard.

There is a light on the back of the computer, that will go out if I turn the power supply off for about 10 seconds. But comes on as soon as I turn it on. I took time out to make sure the little light wasn't on a sequence where it shuts off and turns back on, that the power supply was turning on this little baby light.

If I leave the power cable unplugged for a minute or so, then replug it in, when I hit the power button, you can hear an electrical noise which is the only way to describe it. It's not a mechanical noise, it sounds like electricity charging up. If this isn't clear, I'm sorry, it's really hard to explain.

The computer was not OCed, and has about 10 fans on the sucker. In fact, as soon as it shut down, I rushed to take the side off to give the heat a finger test. No problems at all, not hot.

Components:

Board: Asus Maximus IV
Powersupply: Rosewill lightning 1000w
Video card: Gtx 560

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Rosewill PSUs aren't good quality. As suggested above, please source a different, good quality PSU to test your system with.

Top PSU brands: Seasonic, Corsair, XFX, Antec

SeaSonic-XFX-Corsair (not the CX-GS-M Series) are Seasonic made and top quality.
Antec are not recommended because they change suppliers to frequently.
There are some SeaSonic made Antecs but staying with the brands listed will guarantee the best quality.
