Just built a new computer it has been about 4 days and in that time I have had multiple computer freezes. Sometimes accompanied by a loud continuous buzzing sound through my headset. Has happened During gaming, Watching a video, and casual facebook browsing.

This is the list of items I bought and put in the computer.
CASE ROSEWILL|ARMOR RT
MB ASUS M4A79XTD EVO 790X AM3 RT
VGA POWERCOLOR|AX6970 2GBD5-M2DH R
PSU XCLIO|GREATPOWER 850W RT
CPU AMD|PH II X6 1100T 3.3G AM3 RT
MEM 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL
HD 1T|WD WD10EARS 64M 5K %
MNTR ACER|LCD 23" 5MS G235HABD R
DVD BRN ASUS | DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS%
WIN HOME PREMIUM 7 64-BIT OEM

I am relatively inexperienced with computer building and had a friend help me put it together and pick out the parts. Anyone know what could be causing this? I would like to get it fixed and have the faulty part replaced if needed before the return timeline is over.:4-dontkno

Post the temp and voltage readings from the BIOS. (under Hardware Monitor, PC Health Status,or similar)

Download and run HWMonitor in Windows and get the idle temps and load temps.

You can take a screen shot of the program at idle and load and post back here
I downloaded it and took a screen shot right away for the idle then i opened 4 videos itunes and LoL (a game) for the load. . not sure if thats what you needed me to do, but when i came back it had froze on me, but i left it for multiple hours and it was running for at least 218 minutes because thats when the game kicked me for inactivity. By load you do mean open a bunch of stuff and post it right?

Just started my computer up again with the 4 videos, LoL, and a couple other sites and it froze again with the load "errrrrrrrrrrhhhh" sound in my headset.

Where you able to boot the PC in the BIOS and get the temp and voltage readings from there as well?

If so please post in your next reply.
okay i hope this is what you wanted:
CPU 37 Degrees C
MB temp was 33 Degrees C
and voltages were as follows:
Vcore-1.24V
3.3V-3.27v
5v-5.107v
12v-11.960v

did you need anything else with that.
p.s. thanks for the help on this.

oh i never saw, is that what you meant by load? i need to run a bunch of things and see what it runs at?
Start a game with the program running in the background.

After playing for a few minutes ALT+TAB to the monitoring program.
okay, i'll do that real quick reposting in less than 10.

I have to suspect the XClio PSU. The specs are decent but I couldn't trust any PSU with a one year warranty.
how should i check to see if that is the problem. my friend got the same pcu and his comp is working just fine. should i just order a different one and test it out? also what one should i got for i spent about 139 on this one but don't mind going down to 750 because they said my computer only needs a 700 with what i have in it. i have been shopping on newegg because i can't find a local retailer to sell me one.
psu* sorry was just reading over that and saw i put pcu :p wow.

also i'm not sure on temps, but in that picture my graphics card is like 175 degrees F is that normal?
Graphics temps are okay. Wouldn't want it to go any higher though.

See if you can borrow a suitable PSU to test with.

Test the RAM using Memtest allowing the program to run for several passes.
thanks makin, i really appreciate your help i will run that. should i just do it while i sleep?

would windows memory diagnostic do the same thing? because when i try downloading it i apparently don't have anything to open it with.
Alright, so i didn't have a disk to run that on so what i did instead was i ran windows memory diagnostic and no issues were found, then i took one out and went through to see and it still froze, replaced that one with the one i took out and it still froze, put both back in. i re installed my OS because my moms IT guy said that would be the first place he checks. then i took out my graphics card to see if that was it. it lasted a while so i was hopeful but it still froze. so now i'm thinking PSU because maybe with the worse Video card it doesn't put as much strain on it and thats why it lasted longer. either that or luck. but yeah so now i really only have so much more to blame you know? i have the PSU which from what everyone says is the most likely of whats left. The motherboard itsself, and the CPU. which i don't know why it would be because temps are all cool. also i opened it up while it was froze and every fan was still working, all 5 on my comp. the heat sink, graphics card, and PSU. don't know if that means anything. sorry it took me so long i have been trying so much with it and the only way to really test is gaming. hopefully your still out there to help.

Also, i don't know if it matters but if anyone wants to take a look inside my comp to see if i just messed up building it (which i doubt because my friend helped build many others) i have taken about 8 pictures i can post. THANKS AGAIN!

oh, i forgot to mention, if anyone read this and has good reason i can rule out any of those i listed could still be the problem or can add more to the list i would like to hear it. Thanks again . . again.

This is the previous thread i had but i still have the problem
http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f15/computer-freezing-562281.html *pic's on temps are there* obviously not while i've frozen but still.

I have done the following to try and fix it:
I have reinstalled my OS
taken out on piece of ram, and it froze, then switch sticks and it still froze so i put them back in
i have switched out for an older video card in a previous computer and it still happened
i just barely had a friend come over and he let me use his PSU and it still froze. . .

So i don't know what else it could be. . Motherboard? . . . . my Processor? not really sure but i would love some more help if anyone is willing to. i really need it.

I would suggest removing the components from the case and performing a bench test.

http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f15/how-to-bench-test-your-system-262998.html

If you still experience the freezing outside the case then I would suggest RMA the motherboard.
I am having the exact same problem with my other older PC. Specs are very close to yours. After extensive testing, I found that it is the VGA POWERCOLOR|AX6970 1GBD5-M2DH R graphics card of mine was the problem, it overheated. This is a bit retarded solution but just to check, open your PC's case and put a running fan of some kind straight on your VGA card, try it out.
