My computer freezes when I am playing online and sometimes when I am playing the same game off line.. I have a AMD Athalon 3100 A+ 256 megs of ram and My mother board is a ECS the chip set is KM266 it has never done this before until about 2 weeks ago

Hi,

Are the temps at-rest (just running idle) or under-stress (playing a stressful game)??????.

What we should see is temps at idle someplace below 35c and under stress probably under 50c to 53c max for this CPU. I would suspect that the thermal solution is not done correctly.

What did you use to put it together, the factory pad or Artic Silver?
What temps do you see under stress if you are reporting at-rest temps?

Oh, one last thing, you do have your CPU fan blowing down, don't you? Also, might want to tell us what case cooling you are using like what fans, blowing which direction.....you get the picture.

Get back to us with this information and we will try to give you some things to consider in solving at least the heat issue.
