Hello guys,

I'm gonna get straight to the point. I have a custom rig I bought roughly a year ago that had been built for two weeks. It's still a pretty great build here are the specs (I'm not very great with technical stuff but I can get by):

Windows 7 Home Premium
AMD FX-4170 Quad Core Processor
RAM: AMD AE38G1339U2 16GB DDR3
PSU: Antec HCG-620M
Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-D3
GPU: XFX Radeon Hd 7970
HDD: WDC WD10EARX-00N0YB0 ATA 1TB
SSD: OCZ-AGILITY4 ATA 120GB

My computer freezes / crashes (I'm assuming it is overheating since the CPU goes to 65 degrees in BF4) during heavy processing when it did not used to. I have hard reset it hundreds of times. I DO have an unplugged case fan, but I do not know how to plug it into my PSU...it has molex connectors and I dont see those on my PSU. My friend used to have this fan connected but there is no place for the molex connectors inside and I dont see a proper adapter to get it to the small 4 pin "sysfan1" spot on the motherboard. Here are pics of my setup.

Also I will post pics of my system performance with HWMonitor during use of these programs.

All responses appreciated. Thanks!

The Patriot RAM is a good suspect for "crashing". Try running one stick at a time. Run Memtest86 one one stick at a time and let it make at least 7 passes.
65C is not all that serious under a heavy load.

65 degrees is not overheating.

As Tyree said patriot RAM is a good suspect.

Are you using a burning program to burn the iso to disc?

so i just caught it at 80 degrees this time. and it crashed of course right after the screenshot. i got the fan going, but it didn't make a difference. i am trying to install memtest86 but the installer installed something called quickengine so once i figure this out i can narrow it down further

Very likely.
Patriot RAM is noted for issues. It does have a lifetime warranty.
Personally, I would use that warranty and then sell the replacements.
G.Skill & Corsair are the better RAM brand choices.
A 2x4GB matched pair of 1600MHz should be more than sufficient.

UPDATE:

I ran memtest86 off a USB, one stick at a time. they both passed after roughly 45 minutes each. it must be the PSU?

How many passes did you let MemTest run?
Your PSU is a top quality SeaSonic made unit but any component can fail.
Do you have or can you borrow a 500W minimum good quality PSU to try?

i let both of them finish. so 100% of the passes.

i don't have an extra psu nor can i borrow one cause i'm short on cash. this is quite a bummer. costs 40 bucks for canada computers to do a diagnostic so i should probably just sell something and buy a 750w corsair or something

Your Antec has a 3 yr. warranty. If you do replace the PSU, go with SeaSonic-XFX-Antec HCG and 620W is plenty for your current configuration.
Corsair PSU's are lower quality and not recommended.

memtest does not finish, it runs for ever. 45 minutes would probably equal 1 pass. You need to let memtest run for atleast 7 passes.
