Yesterday my daughter managed to kick my computer off its shelf under the desk about a foot high. The computer was on when this happened but instantly turned off.
If i take the power cord out off the back the green power light next to it comes on but when i turn the computer on it seems to have a power cut s split second later and even the little green light goes off at the back. This does come back on if i take the cable out and put it back in.
I have had a quick look inside to see if something is loose but can't see anything.

With a problem like that, it's difficult to say what it might be without us actually being there. You need to have someone take a look inside it who knows what to look for.

My own view is that maybe the PSU is damaged or some power-related item has come adrift. It's also very possible that the hard drive will have been damaged too, though that wouldn't cause a central power problem, it will nevertheless have to be tested and replaced if it proves to be faulty.
