Hi k2dragon,
I was not aware that this is a laptop, which puts a different aspect on things, which I am not totally
au fait with; however, I will get a laptop guru to look in here and give an opinion.
With that said, I do know that these following items can be disabled in the startups.
- qttask
- WMPNSCFG
- wcescomm
- Adobe Reader
- Google Updater
None of these are essential services that are needed to start with Windows, and disabling them
will not affect their individual operation.
As for the Google™ UpDater, you can update your Google™ at any time manually, and Adobe® Reader does not need to start when Windows starts, it will still operate normally when a .pdf file is opened.
One other item that is an absolute pest is a Browser Help Object (
BHO) called
SSVHelperClass, this needs to be disabled in the Internet Options....
Open
Internet Options >
Programs >
Manage Add-Ons.
I personally
do not have any
BHO's or Browser Extensions running at all, as all they do is hinder the operation of the computer, in my opinion.
Some of my colleagues may beg to differ with me on this score.
If you disable these you will notice a decisive increase in the 'speed' of your browsing; so give it a try and see for yourself.
Post back with the outcome.
Kind Regards,
