i have had this problem for a while now and it is starting to get to me now.

the problem is when ever i try to connect to the other computers on the network to get files i need from them my computer crashes.

the network is set up on one pc and two mac's, i am on the pc. we are running PC MACLAN to connect the mac's and the pc together across the network.

it was working fine until the pc got a bad infection from a few viruses (as norton decided not to find any and let them all in, hence the reason norton has now gone) and now it just crashes all the time.

i have run regcure to see if it was anything to do with file [aths missing of anything like that and it still does not work even with all the fixes made by regcure.

any help with this would be great.

Try this first.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2/SP3.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold for the following commands.

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults, type: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reboot the machine.

If that doesn't have an effect, you may have to consider trying SFC: SFC Tutorial

Since you started a new thread, we have no idea what gave you what, you need to keep your issue to a single thread.

Re: computer crashing again!

sorry about that i had marked the last one solved and thought i would have had to start a new one.

it has started to crash more often now. i have reset the both things that you have said ran regcure and fix the problems that that brought up and it still crashes.

could it be down to corrupt drivers?
