While running auto scan with Norton 360 received an error message -- scan was interrupted you need to reboot your computer. Rebooted but it will only reboot to the boot screen. Tryed booting in the safe mode, last good configuration, normal mode, restoring to earlier date. but still reboots to boot screen. Found this post and tried the recommended solutions but unable to boot to the
CD option.

Can anyone suggest another option? I have alot of files and programs that I don't wish to lose using the recovery option.

No new programs have been added or deleted in quite some time.

Try booting your computer using a Linux Live Disc and see if you can access your files and folders. Then you might be able to copy your files to a removable storage device and restore your computer to factory settings.

I have not used this exact disc before, but there should be an option on the menu to "start" or "open" Ubuntu. If there is, hit that option. I usually use an older version, so the menu is different for me.
