Computer Build Advice for Simulation Software

Hi, I am new to building computers and am looking for advice for optimal components to run Ansoft HFSS (http://www.ansoft.com/products/hf/hfss/) which is a 3D E&M field simulator or MATLAB. Ideally I want to keep it around $1600 but would go as high as $2000. I have no preference to Intel or AMD but would like to get the most bang (performance) for my buck while maintaining a high level of quality and reliability (if that is possible). Any input/ideas would be most appreciated, thanks.

I see your limited to Windows XP or RedHat V4.> http://www.ansoft.com/products/supported-operating-systems.cfm?product=hfss

But that is all I found for required Specs I would suggest you contact Ansoft to inquire about recommended hardware often design/cad programs have a list of recommended/preferred/required hardware such as video cards, ram and CPU's.
Some EM packages can now be accelerated with massively parallel NVIDIA GPU chips used in general purpose mode. See my blog postings GPU-Enabled Computers Speed Up Signal Integrity Simulations and NVIDIA GPU Chips Branch Out Into FDTD
