Discussion Starter #1 (Edited)
Recently, the screen has started to flicker across left side of screen. It then stops flickering and the entire screen looks garbled and very hard to read. I can sometimes turn the screen off and on again with everything ok for a few minutes before going crap again. I can connect another monitor (dual screen) and the picture is fine. So, what could be the problem?
I do not believe the screen is faulty because it is flawless at first and has no dead pixels.
I have re-installed all video drivers and even checked all connections inside.
Could the video card ATI 9200 be faulty? If so, why does the dual monitor work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know Compaqs too well, but it may be the LCD or LCD cable is going bad. It also could be as simple as a loose connection.
If under warranty contact Compaq Tech Support.
If not, you may want to take it someone knowlegable with Laptops.
The LCD cover would need to be removed and the connections checked would be my first area to look at.
